WHAT IS SMATTERINGS?

EARN YOURSELF A TREAT

Fancy a drink, some chocs or a bit of spending money? You can take your pick when you refer a new customer to us!

All you have to do is tell someone you know about what we do and give them our phone number - 01747 822616. If they become a customer of ours we'll give you your reward. It really is that simple - just make sure to ask them to mention your name!

Everyone who comes to us receives a free initial consultation. And if we don't see a benefit for them in the project we'll tell them - we stand by our Gamble-Free Guarantee. You can choose a bottle of wine or champagne, a case of beer, £20 cash or a large box of chocolates for each new customer you refer to us. And you can rest assured that we will treat them well too - starting with a 10% discount on their first project!

And don't forget, referring someone to us could save you money as well! Whether it's another department in your company or someone external that you deal with, we can help them to cut their costs and work more efficiently. All of which will make your life easier, make your company run more smoothly, and hopefully make you more profit!

So what are you waiting for?! Pass on our details and choose your treat!

Can't think of anyone to refer?

a) The most obvious place to start is elsewhere in your own company. Could a project come from another department? As long as they haven't dealt with us in the past we'll reward you, and them, as promised.

b) Referrals can often come from other companies that you deal with. Do you have a supplier who often mixes dates up? A customer who loses track of their payments? Tell them about the software development we do and we'll unmuddle them!

c) Mention us to your friends and family. We know no-one wants to talk about work all the time, but a passing comment is often enough to get someone thinking about a way that we could help them.

d) Know someone who's using a database that they've outgrown? We can integrate new features into an existing database, even if we didn't design it in the first place.

Personal Profile (2008)

NAME: Philippa Turnbull
RIGHT-HANDED?: No
PET HATE: Waste

Q: OK, so we know your name, but have you ever had any nicknames?
A: Flipper and Flippety-do-da (no idea how you spell it!) are two I can remember.

Q: Where are you from?
A: England all over (Army child) - although my grandmother is Maltese.

Q: Who do you live with?
A: Husband, three fabulous small children, and a cat called Buttercup who came from a dairy farm.

Q: Which university did you attend and what did you study?
A: Cambridge and Engineering - yes, really! That's where I learnt the value of getting to the heart of a problem quickly and solving it simply.

Q: How did you end up doing what you do?
A: I set up Software-Matters, in Dorset, 14 years ago because I was unemployed in a recession and fed up with rejection. I was offered a job just before I started Software-Matters, but I turned it down!

Q: Any interesting or strange facts about you?
A: My grandfather didn't own a pair of shoes until he was 5.

Q: Tea or coffee?
A: Herbal tea, I'm afraid!

Q: What are you passionate about?
A: Sustainability (and eco stuff). Oops - was I supposed to say my husband?! Oh yes and Software-Matters!!

Q: Have you ever had anything spooky happen to you?
A: The thing that comes to mind is when I was down and out sitting in my room in a Miami Youth Hostel after being mugged. I was penniless whilst waiting for stuff to be sorted out, and I knew nobody else in Miami. I looked up as someone came into the room, and bizarrely it was a girl I recognised from my university course. She bought me supper and made me feel much better. Incredible really!
